The following work samples demonstrate both my instructional design practice and my approach to leveraging AI tools to accelerate content development. The original Canvas LMS Instructor Guide was developed in 2020 to support a live training session for K–12 instructors at Arlington Public Schools navigating the platform for the first time. The guide was designed as a companion performance support tool — task-based, scannable, and built for independent reference after training. In 2026, I used Claude (Anthropic) to redesign the document architecture, strengthen the instructional framework, and produce a polished, portfolio-ready version — demonstrating how I direct AI tools strategically to improve existing content efficiently. Both versions are included intentionally: the original reflects my foundational design thinking, and the revision reflects my ability to evaluate, reframe, and elevate a work product using emerging technology. My familiarity with learning management systems extends beyond Canvas; I have also worked in Google Classroom and Blackboard, giving me a practical understanding of how instructors interact with LMS platforms across different institutional contexts and how to design training and performance support that accounts for varying levels of technical proficiency.
