I'm an instructional designer, certified Project Management Professional, and published academic with a background in K–12 music education based in Arlington, Virginia. I also own and manage 4B627 LLC, which holds a vacation rental property on the Outer Banks. I hold a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Tar Heels!) and a master's degree in wind conducting from the Shenandoah Conservatory.
My professional background is rooted in education, leadership, and communication. In the music world, conducting is the art of music leadership. It is guiding individuals toward a shared vision and helping them create a meanigful product together. That experience shaped the way I approach instructional design: with clarity, collaboration, adaptability, and a relentless focus on the learner experience.
I'm also genuinely excited about where AI is taking the learning and development field. I've been hands-on with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, not as shortcuts, but as tools that let me work smarter, prototype faster, and design with more intention. That curiosity extends beyond work: I'm an avid reader and I'm always looking for what's next.
Outside of work, I'm a parent to two young children, a licensed yoga instructor, and a new long-distance runner currently training for my first half marathon. Yoga and running have both taught me the value of consistency, resilience, and staying grounded through challenge. These are lessons that show up in my work every day.
